New Addition to Front Office

June 05, 2009

Matthew "Snoop" Blocker has always had an eye for the best up and comers of junior football. With players like Andrew Harris at BC Lions Main Camp, Coach Snoop always has his eyes peeled for new players that can step in have an immediate impact with his club. Apparently, the coach's eyes don't just stay focused on the field.

On Thursday long time assistant coach Hamead "Hammer" Rashead was handed the reigns to the General Manager's position by his long time friend and now former General Manager, Snoop Blokker. Snoop had been the GM with the Raiders since the team's inception back in 2005 and remains the Head Coach. "Snoop has established a culture of winning," explained Rashead, "my goal is to carry the success of this team moving forward."

"Hammer has shown all the ability in the world to run this team. As you win, it becomes increasingly difficult to be a great Head Coach and a great General Manager. I wanted to focus more on the X's and O's of football and I know he will do a great job for us moving forward," Coach Snoop explained.

"I met Hammer a few months ago when I joined the Raiders in January. I am really excited about this move and am looking forward to working with him on a more consistent basis," said Cole Renner (VP of Business Operations), "we all want the best for this club and think we are all going to help each other achieve the team's goals."

Season tickets are now on sale for your VI Raiders! The Raiders look for their forth straight BCFC title and if they succeed, the Canadian Bowl will be hosted in Nanaimo this November. Don't Delay! Season Tickets are only $50!
