Raiders Strut Their Stuff (Off The Field)

June 25, 2009

The VI Raiders, 2008 Canadian Bowl Champions, took to Country Club Centre to show their female fans some appreciation on June 17th. The 2009 Desperate Housewives event went off without a hitch hundreds of ladies came for a night of pampering, free goodies and fun.

Over 60 exhibitors put their products and services on display for free. From manicures to physic readings, women were free to roam around the mall enjoying a variety of activities. The event raised money for the VI Raiders, The VI Raiders Dance Team and the Kids Help Phone.

The main attraction of the night was the fashion show and live auction at the end of the night. The VI Raiders Dance Team started off the fashion show which warmed up the crowd for the live auction. 13 Raider players took the catwalk to start to main event. In front of a very encouraging crowd, the players did pushups, danced and flirted their way to higher bids. Levar Hayden (aka Chocolate Love), Greg Akinola, and Andre Beech took home the highest big of the night after joining forces on stage.

"I honestly can't thank enough, the people that put this together. Shelley Anderson, Dave Mills, Lee Robillard and Irene Booth did an amazing job with this event. I am really proud of what this night is about and look forward to having an even bigger event in place next year," said Cole Renner, VP of Business Operations with the Raiders. "And of course, we would all like to thank our event sponsors and exhibitors; they make events like this happen!"
