COMMUNITY FIRST

📰 COMMUNITY IMPACT: VI RAIDERS LEAD OFF THE FIELD

Over the past few months, the Vancouver Island Raiders have proudly stepped off the turf and into the heart of our community, volunteering our time, energy, and Raider pride across Nanaimo. From youth camps to school fairs and charity events, our players and staff have been out making a difference.

Here’s a look at how the Raiders have been giving back:

🏈 Spring Break Youth Football Camp

March 24–26 @ Beban Park
In partnership with Caged Athletics, Raiders players helped coach, mentor, and support the next generation of athletes. Over 75 kids took part in this high-energy, fundamentals-first camp — learning teamwork, discipline, and the Raider Way.

🏈 Football Nanaimo Jamboree

March 30 @ Beban Park
Together with the Football Nanaimo Seahawks, Raiders athletes led drills, coached mini-games, and inspired over 100+ young football players. It was a full day of fun, fundamentals, and future stars in the making.

🏈 BC Lions Youth Camp

April 12 @ Barsby Turf Field
In partnership with the BC Lions, our team joined CFL legends in delivering an unforgettable camp. Raiders players supported drills, registration, and parent interactions, representing Nanaimo with class and energy.

🍪 Tim Hortons x Nanaimo General Hospital Foundation

May 2 @ Various Locations
Our players joined in on the Smile Cookie Campaign, jumping behind the drive-thru window, decorating cookies, and rallying donations for the Nanaimo General Hospital Foundation. Giving back never tasted so sweet!

🎪 Rock City Elementary School Fair

May 29
Raiders volunteers helped set up the event and ran the fan-favourite bouncy castle for local kids. Smiles were everywhere, and our players had just as much fun as the students!

🌊 Soirée by the Sea – NGH Foundation Gala

June 6 @ Newcastle Island
A dedicated group of Raiders took the ferry to Newcastle Island to help set up this high-profile fundraiser for the Nanaimo General Hospital Foundation. After supporting setup all day, they returned at 9PM to help tear it down — showing real grit, generosity, and class.

🎉 Park Avenue Elementary School Fun Fair

June 7
Raiders players rolled in early to help with setup and spent the day running bouncy castles and activity games for the kids. Another amazing opportunity to bring joy and Raider energy to our community’s youth.

🛡️ REPRESENTING MORE THAN FOOTBALL
